In my new position as Curator of the Curriculum for Farrell Distributing, I’ve been traveling all over the country to meet with our suppliers and to learn about their stories. In February I went out to SoCal with some of our Craft Beer Team to visit all the Stone Brewing Co. locations (including Stone Farms which has since closed). And this month I was in Las Vegas to attend the Global Beer Network Distributor Conference.

Visiting Stone Brewing Co.
When you’re maniacal about drinking the freshest, hoppiest beers available and you find yourself in Southern California, you know there’s only one thing to do: visit Stone Brewing Company.
Stone has been cranking out some of the finest hoppy beers in all the land since 1996. Yup, that’s right – this is their 20th Anniversary. Twenty years of making arrogantly hoppy brews. If you worship the Holy Hop, this is a pilgrimage you need to take.

Betting on Beer in Las Vegas
Las Vegas: the land of excessive indulgence. You can find almost anything your little heart desires at just about any hour of the day. Breakfast at 11 p.m.? Sure. Steak dinner at 4 a.m.? No problem. A three-foot tall cocktail you can drink on the street while watching the fountain show at the Bellagio? Easy.
The one thing you might be hard pressed to find is quality craft beer.
